A board bag is more or less essential if you want to keep the board ding-free. They are made to fit boards of all sizes and types and come in three basic styles:

DAY BAGS
Typically made of a thin, reflective material a day bag will keep your board safe from light knocks and stop the sun and sand getting to it on the beach.

TRAVEL BAGS
Designed to get your board through an airport baggage system in one piece, these boys come with strong straps and up to 10mm of protective padding.

COFFINS
Like regular travel bags, these offer real protection but hold up to four or five boards. Because Coffins can get heavy, they often come with wheels.
